Green grass underfoot and the fragrance of lilacs in the air, it’s springtime at the inn. Cozy rocking chairs are back on the porch and guests are enjoying all of the beautiful outdoor spaces. A special kind of living happens during May and June, and we’d love to have you join us for a night or a long, relaxing weekend. The Gateway State Trail extends from Stillwater to St. Paul with some great stops along the way. Only minutes from the Inn, it’s yet another wonderful reason to head to Stillwater this spring.

STILLWATER HAPPENINGS

Bike trails and book stores, a walk along the St. Croix, a restoration-in-progress of the historic lift bridge, and spectacular views of the new St. Croix River bridge all just a short walk away when you join us at the Rivertown Inn. Because summer near the river deserves to be appreciated, we’re highlighting some of the best alfresco options available in town:

LOLO'S NEW ROOFTOP PATIO - Cool locale with an open kitchen spotlighting seasonal New American small plates & craft cocktails.

DOMACIN PATIO - Featured in Travel and Leisure Magazine as America’s 25 Best Wine Bars, the name Domacin comes from the Latin word domicile, meaning home. You’ll feel the contemporary yet warm vibe at this local gem featuring an innovative menu and over 650 wine offerings.  Really.

REVÉ PATIO - Featuring contemporary American fare in Historic downtown Stillwater, Chef Mike Willenbring has created a from-scratch seasonal menu using only the highest quality fresh ingredients.

NACHO MAMAS - located on the main street of Stillwater, this restaurant is a little side street hideaway like an old Mexican town that is bursting with bold flavors and excitement. Featuring traditional and modern Mexican entrées with a hint of the Caribbean with fresh, delicious, and large portions.

DOCK CAFE PATIO - On the shore of the St. Croix, the Dock Cafe looks upriver to the historic Stillwater Lift Bridge and downriver to the new St. Croix Crossing Bridge.  Classic American fare with a twist. Enjoy dinner or cocktails with some of the best views anywhere.

BRICKS AND BOURBON - The former Green Room on Main Street offers great food, craft cocktails, beer and wine in a newly designed, contemporary space. The rooftop offers spectacular views.

And for dessert...

NELSON'S - This old-fashioned ice cream parlor almost always has a line that circles the building for the best ice cream in the Valley.  Warning: portions are gargantuan … Ice cream servings bigger than your head. Get the child size and share it … you won’t be sorry. Also, little known fact: you can split the order into two different kinds of ice cream. Order “child-size split.”  You are welcome.
