One of the best parts of traveling the world is eating and TASTING your way through a region (...a country...a continent…), but as life would have it, most of us don’t get the opportunity to travel internationally often enough. Enter the Rivertown Inn, Chef Maggie, and our new First Friday in-house dinners! Join us for this culinary tour around the world, focusing on one country's cuisine at a time. For the next 6 months on each first Friday we will be serving a delectable four-course dinner, complete with wine and non-alcoholic beverage pairings, right here at the Inn.
In April, our guests “travelled” to France and partook in this four-course feast:
1st course - Pea Bisque with white truffle oil and parmesan tuile
2nd course - Tuna Confit w/tomato salsa and olive tapenade on celery root purée and herbed grated carrot salad.
3rd course - chèvre with beets and beet vinaigrette
4th course - Floating Islands; meringue floating in crème anglaise and drizzled with caramel.
On May 5, "travel" with us to the Mediterranean...
1st course - Trio of Mediterranean Dips with house made Pita Bread: Hummus, Baba Ganoush & Tabbouleh.
2nd course - Revithsoupa - Chickpea, Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Soup with Pomegranates. From the island of Corfu.
3rd course - Moroccan Cod with Chermoula, Roasted Fennel and Couscous.
4th course - Baklava with Pistachios and Honey
These dinners are served in our dining room, are $75/person + tax (gratuity not included) and must be paid for at the time of reservation. Seating is limited...save your place at the table! 651.430.2955
